The Master Controller is one of the most important electric equipments for rolling stock, this paper makes an approach to Master Controller characteristic and shows the design methods in three main parts:parametric design in profile curve of cam for Master Key; output voltage for potentiometer with resistive load; and special software for the layout design of snap-action switches.Analysis of cam in Master Controller is carried out, according to the mechanical and electrical capability of Snap-action switch and general service conditions. Taking into account in Ergonomics, parametric design of profile curve of cam and motion simulation can make drivers feel comfortable when operating Master Key. The precise model is practicable in CAD software by solving the function of profile curve during the design process. The cam is tested by motion simulation with an improvement after that.The types of Master Controller output signals are discussed in electrical design, including the types of potentiometers in Master Controller and the wiring diagram of potentiometer. The output scheme provided by different types of potentiometers is discussed, not only in the accuracy of traction control system, but also in the manufacture process. The effect of the resistive load on traction control system is taken into account. The diagram of duplex potentiometers shows the idea of reliability analysis and FMECA.To reduce the size of Master Controller, the layout of Snap-action switches is one of the most impartment design features for Master Controller, it is necessary to develop software to convert the requirements into design proposal by Visual Basic. The complexity is taken into account, and the logical options are available according to the past projects, which can make the software available to most technical requirements of Master Controller. |
