The Design And Implementation Of Remote Meter Reading System And Smart Meter Of Chengdu Electric Power Bureau

With the development of our society economic, electric power is used by dwellerspopularly and the amount of electric power is used increasingly. This requires rationaland precise management of electric power grid. Conventional methods needs meterreaders collect data door to door, which is time and manpower consuming. Based onthat situation, it cannot avoid the reading wrong and lack. Furthermore, meter readersoften advance the payment which should be paid by residents. To solve the problemmentioned above, this paper designs a wireless remote automatic meter reading system.The system draws on some kinds of technologies which combines communication andcomputer network. It may utilize technical equipment automatically read and handledata. As data collecting and delivering is a basic function of wireless sensor network,thus we make it as an entry point to make use of the advantages and features of wirelesssensor network. We build a local area wireless sensor network and intelligently managelocal electronic power consumption.This paper present an automated meter reading network system to collect data frommeters having sensors, program product, and associated methods and provided. Thesystem includes multiple meter data collectors each in communication with one or moreutility meters to collect data and forming a wireless communications network. Thesystem also includes a host service in communication with the meter data collectorseither directly or through multiple field host data collectors which can be connected tothe host service through a wide area network. The system also includes a meter datacollector program product at least partially sorted in the memory of the host computer tomanage the communication network. For a long distance transmission, from the datacollector to the server, system uses TCP/IP protocol.In this paper, the data transmission is divided into two main parts; the first is thecommon node and head node data transmission, then the data transfer between headnode and data sink. For these two phases, this paper proceeds both design and analysis.We should establish a delay tolerant network DTN [1](Delay Tolerant Network) toachieve both processes.
