As the improvement of energy structure, nuclear energy, as a clean and efficient energy, stands out in the huge energy system. Nuclear energy involves application field very widely. Among the field, nuclear energy is used in electric power industry the most widely, and popular in other industries increasingly. Compared with the traditional power generation way relying on oil, coal and other energies, nuclear electricity generation has the advantages of small pollution and large energy, at present, nuclear power has occupied an irreplaceable position in the power industry. On the other hand, nuclear power can also cause some nuclear security issues. Nuclear electric power generation will produce some nuclear waste in the form of solid, liquid and so on, and the nuclear waste will take different kinds of radiation intensity. If handled poorly, it will not only cause the economic loss, but also bring safe hidden trouble. In recent years, the solidification and treatment of nuclear waste have caused people’s concern and attention more and more.Based on the characteristics of the nuclear waste’s production process, this paper, on the topic background of Fangjiashan nuclear power plant, analyzes the current situation and process of nuclear waste treatment technology, and designs nuclear waste solidification control system. The system adopts the. distributed control of redundant structure. The field control level adopts SIMATIC S7-400 redundant controller and develops the real-time control program such as transport, solidification and washing. The monitoring level, by WinCC 7.0 configuration interface, establishes, operates and monitors field devices. The solidification technology involves many control links, thus system will produce fault inevitably. In order to avoid the influence of radiation, the control room should be away from field devices, but this will bring difficulty to finding and solving faults. According to this case, possible fault conditions are drawn into the fault tree. In order to reduce the time to search faults and ensure the normal solidification process, fault analysis system is designed through the evaluation.Through field debugging, nuclear waste solidification control system runs very well and has passed the check and test successfully. It has been in production practice at present.
