With the rapid development of container transportation, container ports growing market makes the competition between the port and the port, the pier and the pier is becoming increasingly fierce. To enhance the competitiveness of container terminals, attract ship berthing, shorten shipping time in the port, and improve operational efficiency is an important issue that the terminal operators must be faced. Container yard as a maritime and inland transport systems converge buffer zone and its resources’ optimization Management not only can shorten the time of cargo and vessel in the port, but also improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, promote the development of port logistics.This paper introduces a container yard composition and major resources at first, and the major resources was be divided in two parts: space resources and equipment resources. Followed by Xiamen Haitian Container Terminal as a background, a detailed description of their yard, which focus on the analysis of the present situation of space resources and equipment resource and their main problems. Then from two aspects of the space resources and equipment resources to optimize the yard resources for XHCT.In aspect of space resources optimization, this paper describes two kinds of partition stockpiling and mixed stockpiling, also put the concept of the space sharing of the yard blocks. Then explained the sharing model in detail and established of a space resource allocation model. Finally, through Flex Term simulation software to verify the shared model is feasible.In aspect of equipment resources optimization, according to the randomness of the ship arrives, from the perspective of the system to integrate the berth sub-system, and horizontal transport sub-system to reduce the time of mechanical latency and ship docked. Using the workflow to creating HTCPN model, through Flex Term simulation get the allocation ratio of the quay crane,the crane and inner truck, thus finished the optimization of equipment for XHCT.In this paper, take examples of Xiamen Haitian Container Terminal, then use of the model, algorithm and simulation combined with practical problems to optimize it yard resources, thus gives a reasonable suggestion for Xiamen Haitian Container Terminal Yard’s future management.
