With the development of Chinese urbanization, the urban population and the ownership of the car also increase rapidly. Also some problems such as scarcity of land resources, traffic congestion, environmental degradation of the center area of the city need to be solved.TOD theory thinks that the development of the city should be based on the public transit. Improving the urban living environment.As a major transport mode, metro has many advantages such as efficient, convenient, comfortable, safty etc. and it also can solve the drawbacks of urbanization. So metros are under construction vigorously throughout the country, and in the underground of Guangzhou, Shanghai and other cities have formed a huge network, but there are still a large number of new lines in the planning. Meanwhile, the intensive use of urban land in the central business district promote the appearance of a architectural form of commercial complex. It promote the appearance of MTR Station commercial complex, namely through a certain way, setting up a bridge between the subway stations and commercial complexes so as to form close ties between them, this "bridge" is generally known as "connection space" of MTR Station commercial complex.This paper does some research about domestics real cases mainly through field research, we visited a total of 4 cities,26 MTR Station commercial complex included, Summarized the status of connection spaces in different situations in the country. In Japan and some countries in Europe and America, it has formed the development mode of urban public transport system that based on metro, having a lot of theoretical and practical experience.We learned matured situation of Subway construction and building integrated abroad via reading relevant literature. Also we found some disadvantages of domestic connection spaces compared to the ones abroad. According to the Features, functions, the space form and the research of connection spaces, we Summed up ten kinds of manifestations of connection spaces.After comparing and analyzing 26 cases, we drew the conclusion the main factor that will affect the design of connection spaces is the relatively flat position between subway station and commercial complex. So we focused on some typical cases, and analyzed the space combination, the traffic lines, the function deployment, the environment of the space etc. then we drew the conclusion of Pros and cons of the design. Eventrally via the analysis of some typical cases, the paper proposed design strategies of the four aspects above.
