Research On The Features Of Parks Adapted To The Environment Of The Central Area Of High Density Cities

Under the sustainable development theory, especially in major cities of developing or developed countries, the tendency of high density is outstanding. Green space help maintain the high quality of outer space in urban area. Thus urban parks, as a critical component of urban green space system, play an important role. The features of urban parks under the circumstances of high density urban environment should be raised as an independent proposition, in order to identify urban parks’ adaptability in high-density urban environment. The point of this thesis is to study the basic measures for the urban parks to adapt the high density environment. By picking up the common characteristics among sample parks, the relationship between the features of urban parks and elements of urban areas as well as the influence on either side can be systematically studied. By analyzing the result of field research, combined with the study of existing theories on the topic of high density city environment design, the interactions between the urban parks and urban environment in high density central area can be identified, as well as how those parks survive the compact surroundings.
