The Architectural design of the gymnasium in Zhengzhou University of light Industry is a bid item which designed by me when in Zhou ling Studio. The design is mainly based on the original design of the tender, deepening redesigned facade, focusing on a variety of practices streamline the organization and structure of the facade.The project base is located in central Zhengzhou National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, with a distance of 13.1 kilometers east campus. The entire campus has been completed the second phase of construction, including the case of three integrated projects are underway, including the stadium bidding. The plots of land area:17,000 square meters; construction area:21000 m2; volume ratio 1.2; functional requirements:Part Ⅰ:Sports Complex, including the basketball hall, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, aerobics hall, martial arts, Taekwondo museum. Part Ⅱ:gymnasium, basketball court and volleyball court included. Part Ⅲ:teaching office, including faculty offices, teaching and research, laboratories, etc.This paper describes the design process, by analyzing the case, summed up the characteristics of functional spaces, organizations streamline according to the stadium construction. Through the study of the site, combined with related cases, drawn architectural form; binding function of spatial structure, reasonable layout features; according to the functional layout, rational organization of the flow line. Tender for the results of the above work program design.At the end of the tender, the tender reflection and optimization solutions facade, based on this research forms the rational design of facades and structures. For the south facade, on the basis of the glass curtain wall on the outside plus terracotta louvers, one is to prevent direct sunlight and, secondly, to reduce the summer sun on the indoor thermal radiation. For the other three, except the south side elevation, exploring the use of a new material-PVC pipe facade, outside the campus gymnasium emphasis reflects the original building reflects the spirit of innovation.The design for the facade of the structure, considering the convenience and feasibility of construction, uses modular design, from the keel to the plug material can be prefabricated at the factory to maximize, on-site installation and commissioning can be simple.
