The electrical contacts play an important role in the electrical equipment’s reliable,because it is switching on and off the circuit in electrical equipment. And AgSnO2is themost widely used in contact materials. But it has many weakness, such as high contactresistance, poor processing performance, low comprehensive performance of materials andso on. Wettability has an important influence on the performance of the material, and thestudies of material wettability caught more and more researchers’ attention. So it isimportant to study the influence between wettability and contact resistance.Fist of all, the measurement methods of testing contact angle should be chosen. Thereare many ways to test the wettability angle. And sessile drop method is the simplest andmore convenience, and also has a low error. So sessile drop method was chosen to testwettability angle.Secondly, wettability experiment was carried out. Ti2O3,La2O3,Fe2O3and some otherkinds of oxides were selected as additives. And different proportion were taken respectively.By mixing powder,pressing,sintering,surface cleaning,silver melting,Ag will spreadon the oxide substrate, and then, the angle between Ag and oxide substrate can be measured.This angle can reflect the quality of wettability.Thirdly, by comparing the results of wetting angle, several materials were chosen tomade into contacts. The contact materials were made through mixed powed, pressing,sintering, re-pressing, re-sintering, polishing,cutting. And then conductivity of the contactswere measured. And the contact resistace were ermeasured by using JF04C electricalcontact materials tester.At last, the relationship between wettability and contact resistance was analyzedaccording to each grope with different additives and different proportion. So the effect ofwettability on contact resistance of contactor will be known.
