Gantry crane is the most important port machinery equipment. Tianjin Port fifthcompany is specialized in loading and unloading ores and slag, has five professionalore loading berth. In recent years, the west side of the pier two Hitachi23t gantrycrane structure of each system have different degrees of aging, especially the rotarygear reducer input stage of damage. To solve the gantry crane reducer damagefrequency is too high, this paper change ideas, develop innovative ideas, existingresearch results at home and abroad, the use of mechanical transmission theory andmodern design methods, Gantry crane turntable reducer conducted from structuralform transformation and renewal.Based on investigation of the portal crane reducer at home and abroad, the proposal toreplace the original primary "bevel gear-cone" structure by vertical planetary gearreducer is decided. The structure of the reducer technology has been used in PortMachinery industry, used in the rotation mechanism, showing small size, light weight,transmission range ratio, high efficiency and a smooth, uniform force distribution,self-aligning, and other advantages.The main work is as follows:1. Through the existing reducer damage cause analysis, combined with the latestdevelopments at home and abroad door turntable reducer, overall transformationprogram of reducer for portal crane revolving gear is proposed.2. Based on the reducer overall transformation plan, the reducer detailed design iscarried out, including gear dive design calculations, motor selection, braking devicesimproving, components structural design, key components process planning andreducer input stage assembly process design.3. According to the characteristics of vertical planetary reducer for gantry craneturntable revolving gear, to aim at the smallest volume of the reducer, and with theconstraints of the transmission gear coincidence degree and permissible stress,parameters optimization model of multi-objective is setup. And by use of mathematicssoftware Maple, the optimization model is solved to obtain satisfactory results.4. With ANSYS finite element analysis software, statics analysis and modal analysisfor reducer gear box is conducted, and the optimization design is realized by usingmulti-objective optimization analysis module of ANSYS software. The vertical planetary gear for gantry crane revolving gear developed in this paper hasbeen applied in the actual production, and achieved good economic results.
