100t/38m Gantry crane used in highway bridges building is taken as the study object inthe paper, and by studying the structure and working situations of the gantry crane,combined with some design specifications, the various design parameters of the maingirders and legs are ascertained. The model of gantry crane is established by using finiteelement software ANSYS, and static structural intensity analysis and the modal analysis ofgantry crane are studied. The strength and stiffness are verified and meet the designrequirements; the local strength is surplus and an appropriate optimization can be carried out.And the previous ten natural frequencies additional vibration mode graphs are gained.According to the results of finite analysis, take the weight of gantry crane as the object, thecross-sectional size of the main girders as the design variables in the optimization, and thestrength、stiffness as the constrains, using finite element analysis software ANSYS tooptimize the gantry crane. The weight of gantry crane is reduced by12.8%, and the effect isobviously. When optimization design is carried out by using research and analysis platformof ANSYS Workbench, sensitivity of the parameters to the design points is observed, andknow that the under cover has a greater influence on the deflection and stress of the steelcrane girder, providing reference for crane designers and manufacturers. A new model isestablished and calculated again in ANSYS software after rounding the dimensions whichare optimized. The results show that it still meets the structural strength and stiffnessrequirements. In addition, attention should be paid to the influence of the direction of thewind to the gantry crane, because this kind of crane is main used in the field, the influenceof the wind cannot be neglected. When installed the crane, try to make the double sidegirders windward alternately, enhance the using performance and life. Then by analyzing thecommon form of the crane accident injury, highlighting the flexible deformation caused by aseries of impact of the gantry crane girder, a new structure for a way to eliminate the maingirder deflection deformation impact is proposed. Then design the implementation scheme,and calculate the relation parameters. At last, simulation is carried out by using the advanced modeling AMESim simulation platform, achieved the desired effect, and proves thefeasibility and reliability of the system structure. This system can also be used insemi-gantry crane, and its function can be fully utilized. The results show that thisimprovement achieved the expected results, and provide a reference for future research.
