The identification system for passive PWR Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has beenmainly practiced in Nuclear Island (NI) engineering in the AP1000Self-RelianceProgram Supporting Projects. But it can not meet the requirements for NPPpre-engineering; can not cover the requirements for numbering assignment between NIand Conventional Island (CI) and Balance of Plant (BOP). The inconsequence ofcodes configuration results in much difficulties in project management. Also, thissystem lacks the information classification and coding theory, and lackscomputer-aided numbering management tools. So it is important and strategic for thepassive PWR NPP identification system to construct a configuration supported byinformation management theory and NPP total-life-circle application requirements.Based on best engineering practice and deep investigation for variousidentification system applications in power plants, the information classification andcode theory has been established, the identification system configuration has beenconstructed. As practice on computer-aided numbering management tools developing,we have extended the passive NPP document numbering application range,incorporated the best practice of traditional equipment drawing numbering, fixed onthe serials number assignment principle, established the codes maintenance rules, thenfigured out the following steps.
