Cycloidal pin-wheel reducer is a kind of planetary gear reducer with few teethnumber difference. It has lots of advantages, such as the small size, the light weight,the large and wide range transmission ratio, stable transmission, less noise, highefficiency, long lifetime etc. So it is widely applied in the industries like mining,metallurgy, chemical, national defense, transporting. This kind of reducer is studied inthis paper. Because cycloidal gear and pin-wheel are meshing in multi-teeth at anyinstant, the meshing features are analyzed on the basis of building the solid modelingof cycloidal pin-wheel reducer. The main research works are as follows:(1) On the basis of the structure and the working principle of cycloidal pin-wheelreducer described systematically, the kinematic diagram of the mechanism is drew.The transmission ratio of the mechanism is derived by using the reversal method. Theprofile equation of the standard cycloidal wheel is established. The force between thecycloidal wheel and the pin-wheel with no gap engagement is preliminarily analyzed.(2) The3D solid model of the main parts, such as the cycloidal wheel, thepin-wheel and the bearings, are established with Pro/E5.0. The virtual prototypes ofthe cycloidal pin-wheel reducer are assembled. Then the movement simulation andinterference check of spare parts are carried on. All of these found the foundation ofthe analysis of meshing characteristics between the cycloidal wheel and thepin-wheel.(3) The finite element model of the cycloidal reducer is constructed withSolidworks. The transformation rule of the contact stress between the cycloidal wheeland the pin-wheel is obtained when the output shaft turns a round.The content of this paper can provide a reference to the intensity analysis and thedesign of this kind reducer.
