| At present,the pace of urbanization in China has reached an all-time high. Thedevelopment of urbanization policy changes depends on guidance of scientific urbanplanning and policy,so urban space development needs further study.Linear city occupies certain proportion in China’s cities. There are43linear citiesabove ground level nationwide,and small linear cities are more. The formation of thelinear cities is affected by many factors,but the influence of natural geographicalenvironment is a very major aspect. The linear cities are facing some common cityspatial structure problems.In1882, the Spanish engineer Arturo Soria Mata proposed the theory of "Linearcity", which was a plan of solving all kinds of urban problems caused by the rapiddevelopment of social productive forces. He thought that the construction of a citycould be best to along the rail transit stretches, and form a linear city. His thoughts havea certain influence and contribution on the subsequent urban construction. In the newera, the formation of the linear city still has something to do with traffic. The revolutionof transportation means has injected new vitality to the urban development. Urbantraffic affects the linear city in each aspect of urban spatial structure’s evolution anddevelopment.This article starts with the problems of urbanization and the condition of linearcities in our country having a certain number,analyzes the background, developmentand practice of the theory of "linear city",and points out linear cities sharing deep tiesto urban transportation. Then in the perspective of traffic, the article studies the effectof traffic for urban spatial structure of linear cities, builds targets system based on theproblems of city space structure, puts forward some strategies of urban spatialstructure optimization. These strategies can provide some reference to the developmentof the linear cities.The article is including the following several parts:The first part introduces the background and significance of the study,and definesthe related concepts,and further introduces the overall train of thought,methods of thispaper.The second part is mainly to study the theory and related research of linear cityspatial structure as a foundation for the following research. The third part is on the cause,morphology characteristics,land use characteristicsof linear cities,and points the common problems of linear city space structure.The fourth part analyzes the effect of traffic for urban spatial structure of linearcities.The fifth part explores the optimization strategies of the linear city spatial structurein the perspective of urban transportation.Finally,the conclusion part is a summary of the main research results, and putforward the research ideas and the deeper research. |
