Nowadays,with the gradual improvement of China’s urbanization rate,big cities are facing a series of challenges,such as urban scale growth,spatial structure adjustment,traffic congestion and so on.Actively adjusting urban spatial structure is an important means to alleviate urban traffic problems and achieve high-quality urban development.This study takes Xiamen as an example,based on smart card data(SCD),through the application of network analysis,spatial clustering,community discovery,cardholder locat ion identification,standard deviation ellipse analysis and other methods,analyzes the characteristics of urban occupation and residence spatial structure,and introduces a series of indicators to evaluate the performance of urban spatial structure from the perspective of occupation and residence commuting.Based on the above research,this study focuses on the following conclusions(1)The spatial structure of urban employment and residence: most of the employment centers and residence centers in Xiamen a re located on the island,while there are few employment centers outside the island.The overall spatial structure of "one island,one belt and many centers" is presented.Under the medium and long-distance travel network,Xiamen tends to merge into a unified community.The density of urban centers outside the island is low.Under the long-distance travel,the overall flow of people outside the island tends to converge to the Island.(2)Urban spatial performance from the perspective of occupation and residence: from a static point of view,the number of occupation and residence in most occupation and residence communities in Xiamen is in balance.But from a dynamic point of view,there are a large number of "island to island" commuters outside the island.Cross regional commuting is mostly "island to island" commuting,and Cross Island transportation facilities are facing huge service pressure.The whole commuting circle formed by the island’s employment center and the commuting community under the two-level work residence network constitute Xiamen’s multi-level work residence commuting system.(3)Urban spatial structure optimization strategy: Based on the perspective of green travel to optimize the urban land use.On the premise of improving the spatial structure of the island,we should integrate the space resources inside and outside the island,and further consolidate the development and construction of new towns outside the island.Then,it constructs the off Island non Cross Island commuting system,gui des the urban spatial structure organization to be more efficient and intensive,and realizes the development strategy of Xiamen Bay City.Through the bottom-up division of the urban occupation and residence community,the analysis unit is more scientific and reasonable.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of the urban multi-level occupation and residence spatial structure,the performance of the urban occupation and residence space is evaluated,which enriches the hierarchical vision of the urban occupation and residence spatial structure research.The proposed research system can be used in the study of urban spatial structure of different scales,and the results can provide suggestions for more accurate urban spatial planning and facilitate the evaluation of urban spatial planning.
