| Experience consumption is bound to be the business model converting contemporaryproductive society to the consumptive. Commercial complex of functional, compound,large-spatial and social features has increasingly dominated the commercial architecture.Faced with the new commercial space pattern and new consumption model, leisurespace has become the indispensable component in commercial complex. For the conceptionof such space in a scientific and humanized way, it is theoretically beneficial to study theleisure space in terms of classification and specific examining on its categories.Besides, design methodology of leisure space in commercial complex is raredomestically, thus the thesis aims at proposing specific design principles and methodsregarding consumers as the space users. The thesis also draws on context and historiographystudy for assumption of the evolution of such space in future.Through investigation of leisure space of several typical commercial complexes inGuangzhou, it is therefore practical to summarize the consumer demand and form features ofvarious categories of leisure space, and discuss the inspirations of design and the trend ofsuch experience-oriented space.The thesis uses the method of empirical investigation–analysis and assessment–technological argument to examine the layout and form, scale and area, morphology andfeatures of leisure space, based on analysis of the function of experience-centred commercialcomplexes.The study will contribute to the general design principle and future evolution of threecategories of leisure space, which also serves as the reference in architectural programs andprojects. |
