Pneumatic conveying system installation is dependent on willingness of workers, who may delay schedule or waste resources from their own interests. The criticalchain method removes the buffer of a single step, combines these single buffertogether at the end of the project and forces workers to complete the work at highpressure. This method is fit for Pneumatic conveying system installation. However, the current study of buffer settings at home and abroad uses same calculation method. It means that all the step use same standard calculation method. The actual Pneumaticconveying system installation deviates from current study. This paper analyzes the reason of the delay according to the current situation inour country, and involves the critical chain method to improve this situation. Improvebuffer setting method of critical chain method. Combine50%cut method with theimpact factor, set project buffer time more accurately. Make use of existing buffer atthe end of Critical chain to monitor the process of project. Set up three warning linesto monitor each process of project. It can effectively avoid the impact of previous stepto subsequent process. Take installation of food plant projects as example, use thecritical chain method, identify critical chain, set up and manage buffer, study theincentives and so on.Improving the critical chain method can not only shorten the duration andimprove work efficiency, but also monitor the progress of the project effectively. Itcould control human factors like “Parkinson’s disease " and " student syndrome”.Critical chain method is still to be studied for different fields.
