Welding is one important production method in modern manufacturing, such asaerospace, automobile, nuclear electricity, architectural engineering, and ships and soon. In the welding process, the welding deformation is a big problem which is inevitable. It can affect the contour and size of component which reduces the operationalperformance of the component. Moreover, the research of microstructure in weldedjoint is more and more deeply. This paper used the finite element method to analysisthe deformation of long furcation welding structure, used cellular automata method tosimulate the equiaxed grain growth process. This paper studied the long furcation structure welding deformation; the weldingmethod is tungsten electrode argon arc welding (TIG). Long furcation structure iscomposed of three plates and two bars, they are transition fit. Before welding, fix thestructure first. In the TIG welding process, the component experienced a complex thermalprocess. It has a huge impact on the component distortion. In the production, experiments and FEA method can be used to the welding process. It’s with vitalimportant to study the temperature field and the stress strain field. This paper established the finite element model of long furcation structure. Thetemperature field of component was analyzed firstly, In the simulation process, theproperties of materials was considered as the function of temperature. In order to verifythe accuracy of simulation results, digital image correlation technology (DIC) was usedto measure the welding deformation. The simulation results were proved reliability. This paper used the cellular automaton method to simulate the growth process ofmicrostructure. This paper uses the proliferation contact surface model. In this model, the effect of the solute proliferation in molten metal, the change of temperature field, and the release of latent heat on the solidification process was considered. Through theprogramming, the equiaxed grain growth process was calculated; morphology changeprocess of dendrite crystal was analyzed.
