The paper calculated and analyzed the temperature field and stress field distribution of the brake disc during braking by the finite element analysis software ABAQUS. Combined with the theory of temperature-stress field coupling and heat transfer, temperature field and stress field distribution was analyzed when flange structure was take into consideration. The nodes and integration points on the brake disc surface were chosen to study the change of temperature field and stress field in different time. The influence of the thickness, inner diameter and outside diameter of the brake disc in the surface temperature and stress were analyzed in the paper, which provides the basis for the design of the brake disc.Through the theory of temperature-stress coupling field, the heat conduction and thermal convection of brake disc during braking process, the paper analyzed the heat input and output on brake disc surface, while the various boundary conditions were determined. The distribution of temperature field and stress field is obtained after the coupling analysis with the finite element method. The surface of the brake disc will gradually form one annular high temperature zone, its temperature was significantly higher than others regions. The temperature on the zone is also asymmetric, and the region near friction plate initial position is higher. The temperature movement of different time on the surface of the brake disc is: overall trend shows first rise and then fall with the passage of time, as well as periodic saw tooth on local scale. There is a big difference between the stress curve volatility of different position nodes. However, volatility of different integration points is much smaller. Compared with the temperature curve, the stress curve sustainable going up during the analysis process. On the temperature field and stress field, the position difference influence of the diameter direction has more significant effect than circumferential direction. The temperature and the stress of the brake disc contact area between the friction pairs is obviously higher than the other regions on the surface of the brake disc. The thickness of brake disc and the maximum temperature, the maximum stress is negative correlation on the analysis point during the selected range. The maximum temperature and maximum stress of the corresponding thickness can be simply and intuitive predicted by the linear curve fitting for the thickness in the selected region. The brake discs radius D1, D2 influence is not significant when compared with the brake disc thickness for the temperature, stress effects in friction zone radial fixed conditions. The brake disc with a vent hole can reduce the maximum temperature at the point of side surface of the flange and the maximum stress at the integration point.
