The Open Cities has an important position in the history of neoteric architecture for leadingthe modernization of Chinese cities. Through the evolution of Open Cities’ blocks, we can see theconflict and blending of different culture. Especially the global communication is closer and closer,we need more research for new cities to reference. As the representative of northern Open Cities, the process of space evolution of urban blocksin Tianjin is very typical. This paper researched the structure and features of the development ofTianjin’s city block space evolution through the macro and micro perspective, concluded theevolution characteristics of space in case that the blocks is a complex system. For its complexfeature,we analysis its evolution and dynamic mechanism by choosing the bottom-up modelingtechnology——Multi-Agent Simulation. We apply this technology to analysis two phenomena, themacro one of which is the process of business center changing, the micro one of which is thedifferent vitality of pedestrianized street. Through the analysis of the process and dynamicmechanism of the street space’s evolution, we can deeply know the role of the street space factorin city space evolution. The article concludes with a discussion of Multi-Agent Simulation applications above. As acomplex system analysis tool, Multi-Agent Simulation is different from the traditional thoughtthat uses the data statistics to conclude the variation of the blocks’ scale and proportion.Multi-Agent Simulation is suitable for the simulation of complex attributes and relations ofspontaneous block elements, it has certain advantages in the study of the dynamic evolution of thespace, and it provides a new mode of city space and architectural theory. At the same time, thedifficulties of the technology used in the model construction and the analysis still exist that need tobe deepened in the follow-up study.
