Precast composite shear wall structure with concrete filled steel tube columns is anew building structure system, that is a prefabricated type of lateral force resisting systemtaking concrete filled steel tubular column as the column or border working together withshear wall. This paper tested on the design of vertical joint surface combined withconcrete filled steel tube columns and shear wall, researching the seismic performance ofthe vertical joint surface combined with concrete filled steel tube columns and shear wallthrough scientific tests and theoretical analysis.The quasi-static tests on5specimens of the vertical joint surface combined withconcrete filled steel tube columns and shear wall were adopted and compared to study theshear performance of the vertical joint surface. In order to study and analyze the failurefeature and the limit shear bearing capacity of each specimen, there are differentcombinations of the stud and the pin key in the vertical joint surface of specimens. Thetest result shows that the new type combination method of stud and pin key caneffectively guarantee the shear delivery in vertical joint surface. Meanwhile, it has betterproperties both in shear bearing capacity and in ductility, which can make the jointsurface achieve reliable connection.To discuss the seismic performance of the vertical joint surface in detail,24specimens with the vertical joint surface combined with concrete filled steel tubecolumns and shear wall are selected, and experiments on seismic behavior also have beencarried respectively. Horizontal reinforced bars are taken to replace studs in the group ofspecimens where the bars pass through tubes.Furthermore, this paper analyzes andcompares the failure feature, hysteresis behavior as well as ductility of each specimen.Results show that the new type of combination of connecting bar and the pin key hasgood properties in stiffness, ductility and seismic performance.Based on the experimental research, the recommendations are put forward in thedesign of vertical joint surface combined with concrete filled steel tube columns andshear wall. That is to say, it has great shear bearing capacity and ductility when using theway that combining the stud (or horizontal reinforced bars) and key together, which canbe applied to the structural design of composite shear wall structure with concrete filledsteel tube columns.
