Study On The Difference Of University Campus Landscape Edge Space

With the advancement of higher education, Universities continue expanding scales, as thesocialization of the campus space plays a increasingly important role in future development trend,the importance of marginal space of University campus landscape is attracting more and moreattentions. As a transition zone between campus space and urban space, edge space of campuslandscape have a two-way display function, it could be regarded as a active zone that materialsand information exchange frequent occurrence. The intensive study of University campuslandscape spatial differences in all aspects of University space planning for the future issignificant.This paper based on the theories of landscape, morphology, ecology, social economy,environmental psychology and other disciplines, combines with both domestic and foreignUniversity as actual cases and analyses the spatial difference of edge landscape in colleges anduniversities intensively and critically.This paper can be divided into six chapters. Chapter One states involve origins ofdissertation topic, research background, purpose and significance of the study, relevant domesticand foreign research, papers related to interpretation of the concept of research methods andthesis frame. Chapter Two concentrates on historical and other reasons of university campuslandscape edge spatial variance and the reflection of functional and featured differences are alsopaid attention to. Chapter Three discusses different spatial interaction models and spatial patternsof the campus landscape edge space under the influence of urban space. Chapter Four presentedEELS evaluation methods, which is summarized in this paper. Futuremore, it could becomegeneral evaluation standards of University campus landscape edge spatial. In the fifth chapter,four typical cases are selected, representing different modes of interaction types, evaluate aspectsof ecological value，economic value，landscape value and spiritual value by using EELS methodsand the research results are analyzed. The sixth chapter, based on the former chapters,summarizes the findings of case studies.Besides, planning suggestions of campus landscapeedge space in colleges and universities in future are put forward at the end of this chapter.Universities and cities, from ancient times, are inextricably linked, study of Universitycampus landscape edge space is to study the relationship between space and urban space,studying the differences is to study the different modes of interaction between urban space andcampus space.
