A Research On Theapplication Of Northern Shaanxi Stone Carvings In Modern Landscape Design

With the rapid development of the economy and the environmental landscape design，people pay more and more attention to the environmental art of life and the pursuit of ahigher level of spiritual demand. Designers create modern landscape green space such as parkgreen space, landscape and the modern city square. Stone carving culture is a part of northernshaanxi culture, at present stone carvings are widely used in a lot of landscape andarchitecture in northern shaanxi region. The integration of stone carvings and landscapepresent a kind of new art atmosphere, and at the meantime transmitting cultural and historicalmessage as well as the cultural communication.With the form, aesthetics and the function of stone carvings in the modern landscapearchitecture as the breakthrough point, the paper systematically studies the designprinciples,key elements and structure of shanbei stone carvings in the modern landscape.With a large number of literatures combined with the actual case of stone carvings the thesisdiscusses the application of stone carvings in modern landscape design in the followingaspects:(1) Analyze stone carving of the mini-sculpture through investigating and analyzingdomestic and foreign stone landscape design research, mainly illustrates the unity anddifferences among mini-sculpture of Chinese garden, western mini-sculpture and theJapanese garden mini-sculpture.(2) The northern shaanxi stone carving arts have a deep cultural connotation, whichchange with the social progress and different times. It integrates into the government, thebuildings such as streets, parks and bridges. It is also used as ornaments to decorate differentstyles of buildings, especially for humanlandscape, which has rich subject matter, artistic connotation and deep personality traits.(3) Analyze and study the application of stone aesthetic theory and stones of differentsubjects in the modern landscape, and aesthetic temperament and local characteristicsexpressed by the subject. (4) Analyze the principles of stone carvings in the form and function of modernlandscape design, principles of the structural scene of stone carvings and the landscapestructure.(5) Using Yulin Sunny Square as an example, analyze the design principles of stonecarving in northern shaanxi modern gardens and the main application form of stone carvingsin northern shaanxi modern landscape design: stone wall sign, stone floor covering, stonebridge, cylindrical, maybe, and other landscape application forms, etc. Finally it analyzes thebuilding structure of stone and other elements of the landscape in northern shaanxi modernlandscape, elaborating in detail the structure of carving, plants, water features, architectureand garden road.
