The planning of power system plays an important role in electric power industry. Agood power grid can not only realize the reliability and safety of power supply easily, butalso it can optimize the structure of power source, and achieve mutual support betweenregional power grid. Good power grid planning is the basic condition of good power gridstructure, and it can make the power system in a safe and reliable operation mode toobtain good economic benefit and social benefit.At the same time,a good planning ofpower grid plays a decisive role in the engineering quality and investment costs.The optimal planning for main network of Baotou grid is study in thispaper.Firstly,the background and the meaning of the power grid planning and researchstatus at home and abroad are introduced; Secondly, the detailed overview on the currentsituation of Baotou power network is overviewed detailedly. The problems of Baotoupower grid are pointed out and electricity demand in Baotou is forecasted as well;Thirdly, the power status of Baotou is summarized and analyzed. Reasonableconstruction scheme is put forward. At the same time, the substation capacity of500kVand220kV is analyzed; Fourthly, according to current situation of Baotou powernetwork and the demand of the development, Baotou power network planning scheme isproposed, mainly including the power grid planning of500kV and220kV; Fifthly,according to the electrical boundary conditions of Baotou power network in2015, powerflow calculation, stability calculation and short-circuit current calculation are calculated.Thus, the comprehensive evaluation in2015has been carried on; Finally, in view of theplanning scheme, power transmission and transformation project construction scale andinvestment are estimated.
