The Return Of Traditional Daily Life Space In Historic Urban Area Of Changsha

The existence of the city is for "better life", daily life makes city full of endless vitality. But in the process of urbanization, always ignoring the city life which is essential, one the one hand urban space tends to be standard, one the other hand the city begins to lose vitality and features. So this paper focus on the daily life and understand the city from the perspective of daily life, expecting to make city return to its daily life and shape the unique features of the city.Changsha is a historical and cultural city, and its historic urban area is different from other cities in the traditional daily life, showing a strong vitality. Therefore, this paper will specifically analysis the characteristics and the changes of historic urban area in Changsha.First, on the basis of the collected information, apply the Space Syntax to analysis the constitute of space structure、the levels of space structure and the shape of space structure of traditional daily life space in the historic urban area in Changsha.Secondly, apply the Space Syntax to analysis the constitute of space structure、 the levels of space structure and the shape of space structure of urban space in the historic urban area in Changsha.On these bases, explore the evolution of traditional daily life space in the historic urban area nowadays. the results show that the structure of traditional daily life space was gradually replaced by the structure of modern urban space, causing the destruction of traditional daily life space; the levels of the structure of traditional daily life space reduced, causing the disappear of street activities; the "semi-network structure" was gradually replaced by the "tree structure", causing the lack of neighborhood environment.Finally, because of the specific problems in the historic urban area, this paper put forward the idea of the return of traditional daily life space in historic urban space of Changsha. The strategies include the aspects of overall pattern of daily life, public street space and inside daily life of blocks. And hope the traditional daily life space in historic urban area of Changsha can be full of strong vitality and regional characteristics. This paper points to the daily life space, different form the "grand narrative" on urban space research, stepping into daily life, digging the interactive between urban space and daily life. At the same time, with the Space Syntax, this paper analysis the structure feature of daily life space from the start, different from the descriptive analysis of specific space nowadays, and more stable and scientific.
