Senile Apartment Design Exploration That Based On The Theory Of Typology

The situation of China’s aging population is becoming increasingly serious, theimportance of the old-ag work will become increasingly prominent. so the top priority iselderly housing problem which closely related with the life. Now, with the developmentof society and the changing of the idea about the traditional pension, more and moreolder people move towards social pension, nursing homes, apartments for the elderlyand nursing home and other pension institutions came into being. Apartments for theelderly, not only can meet the needs of the home care, but also can enable the elderly toenjoy the various services provided by the society, so it is very popular with the elderly.With the increasing demand for apartments for the elderly, China set off a wave of anelderly apartment building.However, the new apartments for the elderly directly copy foreign cities, and itinsufficiently consider the local culture. This is bound to break the continuity of theurban development,and the urban characteristics will gradually miss. China has a longhistory, vast territory,and the rich architectural cultural characteristics. We should inheritand continue the quality of tradition building, and then on the basis of it we innovate outthe architectural forms that adapt to modern lifestyles. So, the important issue of thisthesis is that how to continue the culture of traditional architectural in the elderlyapartments design.This thesis discussed the design of the elderly apartments from the perspective oftypology. First, through analyzed and researched the elderly physiologicalcharacteristics, psychological characteristics and behavioral habits, the articlesummarized the design principles to be followed in apartments for the elderly. Secondly,through the study of literature and information, the article deeply explored thetypology theory, and summarized that architectural typology theory is applied to thedesign method of architectural form. Again, through two instances of Handan ImplicitlyPanther Village and Xingtai apartments for the elderly, the article explored thattheoretical studies how applied to the practices. According to the design methods oftypology, the article first conducted the investigation about on the traditional houses inHebei province South Area, abstracted out the common features of these villagesresidential (building types). On this basis, the article converted the building type, andput it to use in these two projects, and then summarized out the corresponding design method. This paper summarizes the the significance of typology embodied in theelderly apartment design, and prospected its future.
