With the rapid development of China’s economy, China’s demand on the electricpower has been more and more, the power supply reliability requirements are alsogetting higher and higher. Transformer is an important equipment of the power supplypart of power system, security, and stable operation of the whole power system plays animportant role in. At present, China’s power enterprises focus on distribution transformercapacity selection of initial investment and project construction, overlooking the lateroperation and maintenance and other aspects of the cost. Therefore, selection oftransformer to reduce the investment cost and improve the reliability of power supplynetwork, the research has important practical significance and research value.This paper, based on lots of literatures at home and abroad, combined with theiractual work, based on the life cycle cost (LCC) method, using the research method ofcombining theory with practice, studies the scientific selection of transformer. Thispaper mainly studies the influence of current transformer and main methods of theselected factors, and analyzes the characteristics and algorithm of whole life cycle costmethod, established a distribution transformer model of life cycle cost; and the Shunpingcounty new substation transformer selection was calculated using the life cycle costmethod, the optimal allocation of the capacity of the distribution transformer, thecalculated results were compared with other model results, verify the superiority of thewhole life cycle cost method, to provide new ideas and methods of transformer typeselection.
