Transformer substation plays a significant role in the electrical powersystem.With the development and modernization construction of the city, somesubstations have been or will be built in the centre of the city or densely populatedareas. Theaudiblenoise generated by various operational electrical equipments in thesubstation will unavoidable to affect residentsor the environment around.It hasbecome an important problem waiting to be solved. Therefore, on the premise ofmeeting with the relevant government standard, the study on substation equipmentnoise characteristics and attenuation laws as well as putting forward effective noisereduction design and noise control schemes are extremely important.Substation transformer, reactor is the main noise source in substation.Lowfrequency characteristicsand propagationlaws of the Substation equipment noise isdeeply analyzed by using theactualmeasured noise data as well as the acousticstheoretical calculation. The work of substation noise control research ismainly carriedout from the following two aspects in this article. One is to set up the transformer,reactor simulation model and calculation model. Substation noise field distribution aswell as the effect of sensitive spots in the surroundings is studied by setting upsubstation noise source model and sound barrier model.The accuracy and rationalityof noise prediction model is verified by the measured noise data. Another isaccording to the noise characteristics and noise excessive situation of transformersubstation, reasonable noise control methodsare proposed by using the noiseprediction software to optimize the design of the substation.Through the simulationcalculation and comparison analysis, the noise value of substation courtareas andsensitive points is discussed, the best method of noise control is elected, and theeconomical and applicable range is analyzed.It also provides technical support for thesubstation optimization design and noise control in the future.
