Since the quantity of ordinary hotel and the rooms was limited, especially when in the "Golden Week " and other tourist rush season, family hotel come out and alleviate the problem of shortage of the hotel rooms.Moreover, people sought for experiential travel, we pay more attention to the family hotel. Xiangxi boasts bountiful tourism resources, The development of tourism brings remarkable economic benefits and social benefits to the local, also meets the need of tourists traveling consumption. Xiangxi Tujia ethnic is a main and important areas in Xiangxi, so research on the Xiangxi Tujia-style family hotel has great significance for spread the Tujia culture and develop the regional economy.The family hotel referred in this thesis is a concept of broad sense, it is no longer the fixed meaning hotel that run with the model for rental the family rooms, it also covers the inn, hotel, hostel around the tourist attractions (natural scenery, historical and cultural town etc). It combines traditional architectural features and the local culture, uses the relevant building materials and technologies, supporting with modern hostel facilities, it aims at the profit, to highlight the individuality and local features as the main objective, combined with the features of times development, finally to meet accommodation needs of the tourists who want to experience ethnic style.By means of combining theory with practice and qualitative and quantitative analysis, this thesis summarizes the features and modes of the Tujia family house in Xiangxi Tourism area, it mainly analyzes the environment of family hotel, the guestroom space at the inside hotel, decorative designs. Under the background of economic globalization Family hotel has become an important platform to show cultural uniqueness,it has multiple meanings on both cultural and economic. When in design and construction of Tujia style family hotel, it should focus on combining the Tujia ethnic customs and traditional local features, without destroying the original ecological balance, to build modern family hotel to inherit the Tujia culture and promote regional balanced development of society and the economy.
