The Study Of Xiangxi Tujia Residential Architectural Decoration Under The Farming Culture

The features and the cultural connotation of the Tujia residentialdecoration are analyzed, and the decorative theme and content aresummarized in this paper. We make a conclusion of the value orientationand creation methods of the Xiangxi Tujia traditional residentialarchitectural decoration, from which the modern interior design creationsmight get some inspiration: the design works with ethnic connotationwhich fits to modern aesthetic habits may be created by using moderndesign methods with traditional dwellings decoration culture.The introduction part of this thesis discusses the purpose and theimportance of the research project and then introduces research object andits methods. Subsequently,in the second chapter, the history of farmingculture is retrospected;the relationship among farming culture andConfucian and Taoist thought, and the intrinsic links between traditionalresidential decoration and farming culture are explored;the relative culturalorigins and backgrounds of traditional residential decoration to farming isthen revealed. In the third chapter, the residential architectural decorationunder the influence of farming culture is read and analyzed by exploringthe relationship between farming culture and Tujia traditional residentialdecorating ideas. In the fourth chapter, the purpose of the research ishighlighted; the wisdom that the modern interior design inspired by the Tujia residential decorative arts is summarized; the principles and methodsof inheritance and reference is proposed, and the feasibility is alsodemonstrated. Finally, in the fifth chapter, some basic creative thinking isformed by summarizing the continuation and regeneration of traditionalresidential architectural culture, and the theoretical framework expressingregional contemporary decorative arts is established.
