| In recent years, the housing problem of urban lower-middle income groups isbecoming more and more common. Aimed to deal with the problem, the public rentalhousing policy was carried out by the government in2006. The public rental housing,with the government’s policy support, limited house area, supply target and rent, istargeted for the low-income families and individuals with the local householdregistration, and non-local resident population including the migrant workers, newemployees, and brought-in talents. It aims to relieve this kind of people’s episodichousing problems, and satisfy their transitional housing needs. Although it has solvedthe low-income people’s housing problem to some extent, the design quality andstandard of the public rental housing still needs improvement. According to thediscovery of the public rental apartments, there is something improper between theunit design and supply target. This assay aims to provide some suggestions on thepublic rental housing’s unit applicability through the research, and makes it moreavailable to all the supply targets. Meanwhile, the assay can help to make a soundaffordable housing system, and promote the society’s harmonious and stabledevelopment.There have been some articles about the unit design from different geographicalconditions and policies.This assay, the research perspective of which is the publicrental housing design of Pingan Garden in Shangqiu city, considering theenvironmental planning and architectural design, uses the analysis methods, and putsforward the suggestion that the public rental housing design should combine theeconomic and comfort factors. The planning design, from the different function of thegreening, transport and land division, settles the relationship between the urban roadsand residential land parcels. The building design, from the occupants’ behaviourpatterns, human scales, and home spatial scales, aims to improve the area utilizationrate and comfort. We shouldn’t give up the living quality because of the limitations ofthe area. And thus, from the planning design and the building design, in order to guarantee a certain quality of living, we should give priority to the occupants’ mentaland physical comfort when set out to design. Only in this way can the public rentalhousing become the lower-middle income groups’s real destination. |
