A Research On Regional Industrial Heritage Protection And Reuse

At present, there is an overwhelming national fever on researches on industrialheritage year by year, and theories and practices relevant also achieve preliminaryeffects and results. Generally speaking, national researches in this respect still wanderin the start-up phase.This research is conducted under the broad circumstance featuring research feverhome and abroad based on researches targeted at several aspects (protection and reusemore, historical research, value assessment and regional industrial category)concerning some existing local industrial heritages of recent times. It attaches specialimportance to regional protection and reuse on industrial heritages. This thesis isextended from the regional perspective, analyzes the concept of industrial heritageprotection and reuse, combines the principle for industrial heritage site protection andreuse and specifies categories of regional industrial heritage sites for protection. Thethesis integrates theories with practices, conducting correlated researches onprotection and reuse of Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Plant. Starting from such threeaspects as specified as housing type, cultural project type and open space typefollowing human requirements, the thesis probes into protection and reuse on regionalindustrial heritage sites, expecting the research results may be improved and revisedbased on the existing facilities for purpose as such in China, in order to stimulate andassist in theories and practices applied in protection and reuse of regional industrialheritage sites.Currently, China’s regional industrial heritages feature considerable quantities,interior preservation condition and environment. The fast economic development andindustrial restructuring in cities result in sharp decline in local industrial heritages andeliminated memorial culture. Protection and reuse of industrial heritage sites is animportant measure to pass on the inner connotation built in them. Therefore it featuresenormous and far-reaching significance in reserving values of regional industrialheritage sites and researches on protection and reuse.
