With the continuous extension of the highway network in the mountainous areas, the projects of mountain tunnel are also increasing. Although people have been committed to avoiding risks in engineering construction, construction accidents still present a tendency of occurring frequently, the issue of tunnel construction risks has gradually become the focus of research.The visualization technology could achieve continuous monitoring of tunnel construction and eliminate blind areas of supervision, which could effectively solve the various issues of construction risk. Based on the visualization technology, a construction management system of mountain tunnel was established, including the wireless video management subsystem and the attendance positioning subsystem of tunnel construction. Through engineering examples and original photos, the good application effect of management system in safety management and quality management was displayed, and reasonable suggestions were proposed aiming at possible problems of management system protection in practical application, so as to ensure that the management and control effect is "visible and tangible".Through analysis and study of the occurring mechanism of mountain tunnel construction risks, the rules and characteristics of the occurrence of tunnel construction risks were revealed. Based on comparison and analysis of various risk assessment methods and combined with the characteristics of engineering projects, the classification of construction risk for each level of factors were successively presented, as well as for the whole project. By means of risk assessment model, assessment of tunnel construction risks was realized by using comprehensive evaluation method, and suggestions for risk control were proposed according to the assessment results. The application in the Shizui Tunnel Project achieved the desired effect in practical application, which provided reliable risk control measures for tunnel construction management.
