In this thesis, based on the domestic and overseas researching.The power industry is the most important energy industry to the people’s livelihood and national economy, and improving the management level is one of the effective ways to accelerate the development of power industry. The data organization and analysis ability of Geographic information system can assist the power enterprise in operation and management, combining with the Internet can also achieve better data sharing and a wide range of using. The production management of power associating with GIS application will bring great benefits, and completely change the management pattern of the past.The traditional GIS shows geography graphics in a hierarchical display, and the geographical elements are abstracted as point, line, surface in the form of research, focusing the graphical display and the spatial position relationship. The Electric GIS is different from the traditional GIS in isolated storage spatial information with attribute information, and in order to improve the real-time monitoring capability of power system, realizing the integration of grid information, establishing the topological connection between the equipment, realizing the real-time analysis of power running, Electric GIS unified models production, operation, geographic information data with synchronous management.The construction of Electric GIS platform mostly relies on the commercial GIS software with secondary development, although the development mode is mature, and widely used, there are disadvantages of high development costs, long development cycle and difficulty to develop. According to the specific requirements of power system, this paper presents retrieval system of power equipment information in distribution network based on map service. The platform is based on open source GIS software such as GeoServer, PostGIS, U-dig and Openlayers, combined with the existing map service API to achieve the mapview, equipment retrieval and other functions in common use. Through the research of tile map technology, the platform can support layer loading and positioning in online and offline mode. Other power WebGIS applications can be added rapidly with the help of this platform, and deployed to the intelligent mobile devices is easily, so that it has high practical value. Using this platform has advantages in the development of low cost, short development cycle and low difficulty of development.
