With the smart grid construction in full swing and the rapid development of Intelligent Technology, it has become an inevitable trend that hydropower plant develop into intelligent direction. Intelligent hydropower plant can achieve comprehensive benefits of environment, society and economy, by using advanced computer technology, communication technology and control technology, And also can improve the efficiency and reliability of electric power production, so then meet the various needs of users increasing, but the process of intelligent must ensure hydropower plant safe, reliable, economic operation, not at the expense of the safety, reliability and economy. This paper focuses on construction of the hydropower plant intelligent secondary system, Some difficulties encountered in the study:First of all, AI construction of internal hydropower plant is still in its early stages at present, so the data are very scarce, and reference information is too few; Secondly, one-time intelligent upgrade is unrealistic for old hydropower in China; Finally, because the secondary system based on computer has penetrated into various fields of industrial production process, so we need more intelligent methods are advanced to enrich the secondary system. Therefore, the means to implement hydropower plant AI secondary system is not sole. This paper points out the existing problems according to the present situation of hydropower plant electrical secondary system, and draw up a feasible intelligent scheme based on current situation and problems, combined with the example of hydropower plant reform, discussed the main methods and key technologies of the intelligent realization by means of realization and key technology of technological transformation under the existing conditions.
