Through understanding and analysis of the SPA industry;combining local culture and regional characteristices to explore constructional and functional space design patterms suitable for China’s SPA,to the test of actual projects through the field survey on the basis of the space theory as the instruction.The paper first part discusses the SPA related theories and literatural records, including the origin development and present status. Then the paper concepts and make classifications,summing up some problems exsiting in China’s SPA architectual designs from the perspective of the corresponding SPA constructions.The paper explains the space theories:the definition of architectural space, and shape and the functional expressions.On the basis of those, the acticle explores the SPA building space design patterns and forms the design process from five aspects:the SPA building site selection, the SPA building internal space streamline organization, the SPA building internal functional space design, the SPA architectural shape design and outer space and environmental design.The last part makes the practical analysis through the actual project:the prosperous MingXiYuan SPA architectural design,forming the design patterns from big to small, from primary to subordinary,from the overall planning of the project to the architectual space design of the main building and boutique houses, and then to the design of the outdoor environmental space.This article includes36000words and58pictures.
