Rural greenway, as a form of greenway and an important part of green networks, with ecological, landscape, social and cultural functions. It has the ecology, landscape, social and cultural function and has great significances in promoting the rural construction, accelerating urban and rural integration, restructuring the broken rural landscapes and natural environment. Meanwhile it contributes to the development of self-driving travel and hiking tour.Landscape evaluation is a method of measuring landscape quality through quantitative approach. In this paper, landscape evaluation was used in evaluating rural greenway. Through expert consultation and literature review, indicator system was established from four aspects:road landscape, rural landscape, landscape facilities and functions, and ecological environment. The weight of each index was determined by analytic hierarchy process (AHP)In this paper, the Picture Gallery in Yanqing County of Beijing was selected to practice the landscape evaluation system of rural greenway. By consulting local residents and tourists, the quality of Picture Gallery was calculated. The evaluation results showed that the Picture Gallery scored high. It had advantages in ecological environment and rural landscape. However,it had disadvantages in road landscape and landscape facilities. Considering the analysis of the results, a holistic strategy which with ecological environment protection as its basis, rural landscape improvement as its chief attraction, development of landscape facilities and functions as its tools, road landscape construction as its feature was proposed, In the end, detailed suggestions were proposed to improve the landscape quality.
