This article outlined the research background of greenway network from the international, domestic and Chang-zhu-tan regional aspects, showed the purpose and significance of research, and interpreted the concept, feature, development stage and relationship of urban-rural integration, greenway and greenway network in detail. The ideas, methods and techniques of greenway network as well as the enlightenment on the greenway planning in our country were summarized based on the research of the theories and practices both at home and abroad. The landscape pattern analysis method based on the theory of landscape ecology was the key reference including the corridor structure index and network structure index. And two new indexes called the greenway network’s urban-rural coverage and the linkage number of rural towns put forward in this paper. Several plans were constructed by using six network layout modes above-mentioned and then analysed and evaluated by the indexes. The series of steps fully composed the research method in this paper.Chapter V of this article tried different network layout modes to construct3plans for Changs ha’s greenway network, under detailed interpretation of the status quo and following the basic goals and principles of urban and rural integration. After that the landscape patten analysis method based on the theory of landscape ecology including the corridor structure index (e.g. nodes number V, corridor number L, corridor total length S and corridor density p)and network structure index (e.g. circuitry rate—α index, line-point rate—β index, connectedness—γ index and cost ratio θ index) and two new indexes (the greenway network’s urban-rural coverage and linkage number of rural towns) were used to analyze and compare the3plans above, and then pick out the ideal and best one. Finallv. combining with the actual land use situation and other factors, plan4was found to be the most reasonable plan on the basis of the ideal and best one’s optimization.
