The southeast of Guizhou being located inthe southeast of Guizhou Province, thepopulation of the Dong can reach more than70%of the county’s total population, andLiping Congjiang, Rongjiang are the main settlements. These areas still remain thetraditional architectural forms of Dong stockaded village. The unique topography makesthe Dong minority take advantage of local natural environment to construct somebuildings which own their own ethnic features. Taking the Dong’s traditional residentialand public buildings and their detailed structure as the research object, the real lifestyleand custom of the Dong ghetto and the cases of ancient architectural style as theresearch evidence, the paper analyzes and makes research on the structuralcharacteristics of the Dong village and its detailed structure.This paper begins with the description of the Dong cultural production, formationand development, understanding the historical and cultural background, and thenanalyzing the Dong village structure on the basis of fieldwork and mainly makesspecific analytical studies on residential and public buildings such as Drum Tower,Wind and Rain Bridge and other buildings.This article makes analysis and research from whole to part, explores and absorbsthe essence of the Dong, and introduces the building structure and cultural features ofthe Dong village in southeast of Guizhou.The paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction of thispaper describing the value and practical meaning of the Dong villages in southeast ofGuizhou and understanding the status analysis of the Dong village buildings fromdomestic and foreign scholars.The second chapter explores the Dong ethnic characteristics through the analysis ofthe Dong village geography, cultural background, the traditional lifestyle, etc. andfurther understands the impact of natural and geographical environment on the Dongvillage buildings.The third chapter focuses on analyzing and contrasting building types andstructures of the Dong village in southeast of Guizhou, elaborating types and structural shapes of Dong public buildings and residential buildings respectively and analyzing thedetails of buildings.The fourth chapter is on the introduction of two typical Dong villages in southeastof Guizhou, making a contrast from the outside into the interior space layout. |
