The Research On The Design Of Yanbian Artistic Creation Base

In2009, China’s first special plan on culture industry--Reinvigoration Plan of Culture Industry was discussed and passed on an executive meeting of the State Council. This special plan marks the fact that, in a new historical period, culture industry has worked up its place to become another state-level strategic industry after the top ten industries such as the steel, automobile, textile industries, etc. The question of how to realize the requirements and objective in the Reinvigoration Plan is an urgent issue for the construction and development of culture industry in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, a region with distinctive ethnical and regional characteristics.This paper presents a series of research results on the design project of Yanbian Artistic Creation Base. Yanbian Artistic Creation Base is located at Copper Buddhist Temple in Long Jing, Yanbian, facing National Rd No.302in its north and Buerhatong River in the south, and is based in one of the major rice industrial districts in Yanbian. An agricultural civilization with strong ethnic characteristics has formed by the shores of Buerhatong River over a long history. This civilization, together with traditional villages formed naturally, and an environment endowed with the natural advantages, has attracted innumerable artists to conduct their artistic creation here.How to blend Yanbian Artistic Creation Base into the natural environment and the ethnic culture is a question at all times crucial to the design project of the base. This paper first analyzes and researches same or similar culture industry construction projects both from China and abroad, and extracts the credits and defects of these projects, thereby providing references for Yanbian Artistic Creation Base to set its objective in the design.Based on this, the paper then presents a lengthy analysis emphasizing on the history and current situation of the section chosen by the base, puts forward a few problems to be solved in the design, and establishes the principle in the project design of Yanbian Artistic Creation Base, which is sustainable development, with specific requirements concerning the inheritance of the history of the section, the environmental protection of the base, and the self-rejuvenation of the base, etc. In the meantime, the scale and content of the construction of Yanbian Artistic Creation Base is also defined.As to the concrete planning and design of the base, this paper discusses the issue from the perspective of the spatial form of the base, the road network of the base, and the design of its environmental landscape, and proposes a specific design method sticking to the principle of sustainable development. As to the design of single buildings, the paper discusses from the aspects of the formal language, the spatial language, and the material language in architecture to illustrate the proposed specific design of certain buildings.Through mentioned research, this paper summed up the basic principles to develop the cultural industry in backward areas of minority:fully respect the natural and humanistic tradition factors of the base area; give full play to its region characteristics formed in long historical periods; form the healthy contact of co-existence and co-prosperity between the base and the environment and finally achieve the fundamental purpose of sustainable development.
