Researching The Space And Form In SHEQISHANSHAN Hall

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the development of economy and traffic, the emergence of official registry system and the development of imperial examination system caused the transitions of social structure, hierarchy and people’s behavior custom.Sheqi Shanshan Guild Hall is the first one approved by the State Council as one of the key cultural relics protection units in the countrys’s existing more than80similar buildings. And it is the largest one Shan Shan hall remained in He Nan area. Initially, the hall was built in the Qing Emperor Qianlong twenty-one years (AD1756), and completed in Guangxu eighteen years (1892). From the build to completion, it cost136years and six calendar emperor. According to the record, Sheqi Shanshan Guild Hall, alias Shanshan fellow Hall or Shan Shan Temple. The hall is a business hall built by Qin Jin merchant for telling country ship, divining business intelligence, worshiping Guan Gong, praising faith highly, fixing up the compatriots in the travel and discussing the chivalrous deeds. Businessmen of Shanxi and Shaanxi made the hall as the carrier of reposing homesickness and promoting and developing native culture for reposing homesickness and establishing local commercial image. So the halls remained the brand of the buildings in their hometown. At the same time, in the construction process of the hall, they also request large number of local skilled craftsmen for help in order to reconcile with the new land culture, so the Shanshan hall has the local architectural art of Henan.In this thesis, through the study of building space and form of Shanshan guild hall, as well as the comparative analysis with the folk housein and the building of Guan Yu Temple in Shanxi and other Shan Shan hall and the contrast of the official building in Henan, we can know the architectural features and cultural connotation under the fusion of multiple architectural culture.
