Investigation And Research Of Soundscape In Haikou Comprehensive Park

City Comprehensive Park, is the main public space for people to outdoor activities, and is also an important carrier of people’s spiritual life. With the improvement of the living standard, the overall environment quality of the park is paid more and more attention by designers and tourists. But for a long time, the park’s design has been a focus of visual angle, while ignoring design of auditory and acoustic environment. With the soundscape concept widely spread in China, people began to completely review the park landscape in the sound environment and pay attention to sound perception of listeners.With the guidance of the theories related to Environmental psychology, Psychological acoustics, Landscape ecology, Space and place, Recreational behavior and so on, we investigated soundscape status of typical comprehensive park of Haikou. By professional instrument measuring the changes of each measuring point of the People’s Park and Baishamen Park in each period, we made analysis and evaluation on the soundscape characteristics of the parks. Besides, through the questionnaire investigation, we have learned the visitors’subjective evaluation of the status of park soundscape. Moreover, by adopting the Likert scale method, we analyze the data procession and relevant work. At last, the results of our research show that:(1)The characteristics of park soundscape:urban comprehensive park soundscape of Haikou is made up by natural sound, live sound and artificial sound, and their proportion resulted from the surrounding environment and the use rate of visitors.This article also analyzes the characteristic and time distribution of the sound source. In the objective evaluation of soundscape, the paper mainly analyzes and summarizes sound level, degree of noise of every test point.(2) At the aspect of visitors on subjective evaluation of soundscape, the thesis analyzed several important soundscape indicators:subjective loudness degree, likeability degree and coordination degree. In addition, selecting ten loving and don’t like elements of sound. According to the average score of positive correlation between likeability degree with coordination degree, we found the sound and the surrounding environment is a common whole, we also found sound landscape is an important element in landscape environment.(3) The study of "places--behavior--soundscape" shows the characteristics of typical places and spaces of the park, and we obtain the related laws of "space--human recreation behavior--soundscape characteristics", and further summarized the spatial distribution characteristics of park soundscape.This part is arised as a supplement to the study on objective evaluation and subjective evaluation of soundscape.(4) There are several shortcomings of Haikou comprehensive park soundscape firstly, the regional characteristic of soundscape is not obvious. Secondly, the artificial soundscape is too heavy. Furthermore, the lack of soundscape elements. At last, deficiency in understanding and administrating on soundscape.(5) According to the research results, combined with relevant theories and based on the following characteristics factors of Haikou city: regional specificity of tropical tourist city, the richness of natural resources and the particularity of the culture, we found three design methods to improve soundscape. First, negative design, to weaken or eliminate the soundscape factors of mean lower evaluation. Second, positive design, to increase characteristics places and soundscape elements that people loved. Third, zero design, to protect good soundscape elements.
