Boom roadheader or bolter-miner is very difficult to cut the coal rocks in minetunnel construction when the rock hardness is more than8or mine tunnel is under multifaults condition. At present, the main method for the construction of tunnel is usually thetraditional drilling and blasting method. The excavating loader is one of the main devicesin a complete set of equipment during rock projects with drilling-blasting method. Themachine makes lifting function, extracting core function and traveling function integratedinto a whole body, which is applied to conveying waste rocks continuously. Working withcoal mine hydraulic drill rig, the machine is suitable for mechanization operation of minetunnel. With the development of mechanization and drill and blast, the excavating loaderis very important to driving speed.According to the relevant design standards, construction conditions under the coalmine and drilling-blasting work etc, the excavating loader has been designed as a whole.At the same time, the parameters of the backhoe working device, scraper, crawler andhydraulic system etc have been determined, and the connecting and assembly relations ofmain parts have been accomplished accurately, so the machine can be adapted to the badworking environments in underground coal mine.Considering the load characteristics under typical working conditions, the mainparameters of the hydraulic system have been determined. According this, the hydraulicsystem principle charts and the parameters of the main parts in hydraulic system such asthe main pump, travelling motor and the cooling system have been determined.Based on the research fruit of other scholars, the computational methods for theoreticexcavating loading force of hydraulic cylinders and the machine have been defined. Thefour special conditions have been presented when the machine could encounter in thefuture. The logical operation scope of the excavating loader has been determined duringthe design process.The solid model of backhoe is made by SolidWorks, and its static analysis isperformed by using the finite element software. The distributions of stress and straininside the backhoe are illustrated.The methods and the obtained results in this paper are helpful to develop the seriesexcavating loaders.
