| Culture is the expression of building idea, architectural culture reveals the people of allthe activities and thinking ideas, change due to the change of environment. This topicselection of the construction of small cities and towns to China and South Korea culturalheritage as the research object, and expresses the people from the side-environment-theharmony relationship between and among buildings.This article first introduces the research results of12small towns, the distribution ofsmall towns in our country, the southern section of qinling and lower reaches of the huaiheriver, and around South Korea. This article detailed the status by the research of small citiesand towns population, natural environment, layout features and public buildings, residentialbuildings, compared with China and South Korea part of small towns in the current situationof the protection and inheritance of traditional architectural culture. Then, combined with theresearch results, on the basis of traditional "geomantic omen" theory, a detailed analysis andresearch on the present shape of small towns with traditional cultural characteristics-thetraditional settlements of the overall layout, residential architectural form and public buildingsform; Based on the theory of residential environment, natural environment and socialenvironment factors are analyzed in detail the construction of small towns the influence ofcultural evolution. Finally, in the huaihe river and the grand canal intersection under the rivertown, for example, discussions and analyses the traditional architectural culture of smalltowns protection method, and puts forward the cultural heritage protection and strategy in theconstruction of small towns.Through the investigation and analysis and research, in this paper, the followingconclusions: First, due to factors such as geographical and political influence, China andSouth Korea culture generally influenced by traditional Confucian culture and Buddhismculture, architectural culture have the same characteristics, therefore, compared to othercountries, South Korea architectural culture heritage strategy have more reference value to theconstruction of small towns in China. Second, the method of construction of the Koreangeographical landscape and create; ancient villages "repair the old as sweet" the restorationand protection methods; To the internal heritage of traditional architectural culture in citiesand towns method and the method of using historical resources for tourism development isworthy of our learning and using for reference.
