Study On Appearance And Form Design Of High-rise Residential Buildings In Xi’an Area

As China’s urbanization process accelerated and the rise of the real estate industry, theresidential building in the city also got rapid development. The emergence of high-riseresidential buildings, to some extent, alleviated the contradiction between the growth ofpopulation and the the shortage of land, but with a large number of construction, high-riseresidential buildings faced with a phenomenon of form a single, facade machine-made andlack of regional characteristics. This is a serious challenge to many cities. As a famoushistorical and cultural city, Xi ’an should focus on how to avoid this phenomenon, so as tomaintain its overall style and improve the quality of the urban environment.According to such a situation, this study determined the research direction. First of all,the paper analyzed and researched related concepts, theory, and the development course bothat home and abroad, in order to lay the foundation for later study.Secondly, in the perspective of architectural morphology, the paper carried on the systemelaboration and classification of the basic factors (shape, color, material, size, field) and thebasic elements (point, line, face) related to appearance and form, which is convenient to typedarrangement and analysis. Therefore, After the extensive screening of high-rise residentialbuildings in Xi ’an area, this research made an on-the-spot investigation to22filtered cases,using visiting inquiry, photographs and other ways to enrich the relevant information ofappearance and form.Then, the paper made a typed analysis of the basic characteristics and characteristics ofappearance and form in three different time stages in Xi ’an area. Finally, through thecomparison of appearance and form design in three different time stages, the papersummarized the commonness and evolution regularity of appearance and form of high-riseresidential buildings in Xi ’an area.The commonness and evolution regularity, summarized by analyzing the characteristicsof appearance and form, plays an important role in guiding the design practice in appearanceand form of high-rise residential buildings in Xi ’an region in the future.
