With the rapid development of transportation industry in our country, the number ofroad traffic and bridge are also increasing, which has brought more and morevehicle-bridge collision issues. For now, in the world there are many times of catastrophicaccidents due to vehicle-bridge collision, such a large casualties and economic loss alsomakes this issue concerned all over the world. But on this problem in our country there isfar from enough, we have no special specification formula to use, and in relatedspecification there is only defines the vehicle-barrier impact, so the specification don’tconform to the actual situation. Now, many scholars are respectively from differentangles to study the vehicle-bridge pier collision impact of related issues, this paper isresearching vehicle-bridge pier collision based on LS-DYNA simulation, main tasks areas follows:(1) Research and analysis the related achievements of other scholars onvehicle-bridge collision problem. First, Sort out their analysis method and the mainresearch object, and evaluate their advantages and disadvantages. Then, determinepaper’s research method combined with research equipment.(2) Establishing finite element modal of vehicle and bridge on ANSYS/ls-dynasoftware. First, considering the characteristics of material simulation and softwarerunning speed, so should reasonability select material model and the relatedparameters. Then, verdict the finite element model of the whole from the angle ofenergy, to ensure that the model for vehicle-bridge pier collision simulation accuracyand rationality.(3) Simulate various influence factors of the vehicle maximum impact force onLS-DYNA software. Analysis the various factors, such as boundary conditions ofbottom pier, quality of car, buffer, velocity of collision, angle of collision, and findtheir change rules.(4) The bridge damage assessment on different factors, respectively from twoaspects of the overall damage and partial damage. For overall damage assessment,mainly based on the rate of change of axial force of pile bearing capacity andevaluation standard of evaluation; For the local damage assessment, mainly rely onthe PREPOST post-processor respectively extracted under the impact of variousfactors on the top of the pier horizontal displacement and settlement and the end ofthe pier stress, compare with the specification limits for damage assessment. Results show that when the vehicle-bridge pier collision with the change of various factorsunder the specification of car guardrail collision is not the same, and the damage ofthe bridge is sometimes fatal. Therefore in the bridge design needs to strengthen theaccidental impact considering about cars, it also should be further improved.
