China is a natural disaster-prone country, the annual average economic losses causedby all kinds of disasters is over one hundred billion yuan. After the disaster occurs, inorder to meet basic living needs of the victims, portable dwellings and tents are the mostcommon ways to settle the victims for a short term. when the dwellings or tents groupsare built by a large scale, a certain distance should be kept between lines and groups,which can be used for travel、fire safety、evacuation and other purposes.When the panel houses and tents are arranged by groups in actual practices, it isoften difficult to find enough open space to build temporary shelters nearby. Therefore,a great many dangerous phenomena such as overcrowding、poor transportation、shortfire safety distance and so on often appear in the temporary settlements, once the fireoccurs, it is very easy to form the‘burning the camps’scenes, which causes serioussecondary disasters. On the contrary, if the fire safety distance is too large, not only it isvery hard to meet the requirement of setting more victims on limited land,but also awaste of the land resources and other resources. In the existing fire safety codes in ourcountry, the stipulations of fire safety distance between various temporary buildings arenot targeted nor perfect, so that previous panel houses and tents built in our countrywere often built according to foreign codes or practical experiences, which wasapparently unscientific and unreasonable.In this paper, computer simulation is used to verify the full-scale color steelsandwich panel house and tent fire experiments, which were provided by sichuangeneral fire brigade. By comparing the simulation results with the experiment data, theaverage relative errors are small, which shows the simulation method is correct. Whenconsidering the environmental factor is a great influence on building fire and differentregions or climate zones have different weather conditions, Subsequent simulationswere carried out based on the former mode with different wind speeds and differentenvironment temperatures. The data about heat radiation intensity field、temperaturefield and heat release rate were obtained from the computer simulation. Finally, puttingthe simulation data as a benchmark and the experimental date as a reference, the firesafety distance formulas of color steel sandwich panel house and tent were obtained bythe regression analysis. The formulas have good correlations, further more, not onlythey can be used as a construction basis of portable dwellings and tents groups, but also an important reference for formulating and consummating some relevant temporarybuilding fire codes.
