The electro-hydraulic proportional directional valve is the key component ofelectro-hydraulic proportional control system, its performance is very important that willdirectly affect the quality of the hydraulic system. It’s necessary to strictly test theperformance of the electro-hydraulic proportional directional valve to ensure hydraulicsystem’s reliability and improve the cost performance for users.Therefore, to design atesting system which has higher accuracy and advanced testing techniques to detect staticand dynamic performance indexes of electro-hydraulic proportional directional valve actsan important role.This study comes from a project of a domestic company which plans to design andmanufacture a static and dynamic test bench for proportional valves on industrialapplications. The test bench is mainly for the ex-work testing and dynamic characteristicsof pilot operated electro-hydraulic proportional directional valves produced in-house,andachieve the requirement of rapidity,accuracy and full automaticity.Firstly, analyzed the specifications, structure principle and test content of theelectro-hydraulic proportional directional valve under test, studied the test principle andmethods of static characteristics and dynamic characteristics based on the national testingstandards.Secondly, designed the performance test system of electro-hydraulic proportionaldirectional valve, Completed the schematic design of the hydraulic system, calculation andconstruction design. Set up a hydraulic computer-aided testing scheme including PC, PLC,data acquisition card, touch screen and LabVIEW. Using AMESim simulation software,respectively modeled the main valve and pilot valve, builded each static characteristicstest simulation loop, made simulations for its static characteristics such as steady-stateflow characteristic, throttling characteristic and so on, and proved the result of the mainspool design flow on the Fluent simulation.Use4WRZE electro-hydraulic proportional directional valve as a test object, andRexroth’s same specifications valve as the reference object, tested their staticcharacteristics test on the new designed test bench, compared and analyzed the two valves’static performance indexes about hysteresis and linearity and so on, got a good testperformance curve, met the demands of the electro-hydraulic proportional directional valve ex-work testing, finally proposed the design parameters of electro-hydraulicproportional directional valve which played an important role in improving itsperformance.
