The thesis takes the integration as the point of the study of the combination ofbuilding complex and urban public space from the perspective of urban design. Bythe multi-level and multi-element study of the organic integration between buildingcomplex and urban public space, the thesis plays a guiding role in helping buildingcomplex intervene into the city’s dynamic circulatory system more frequently andefficiently.At first through the analysis of the research both at home and abroad, the thesisexplains some related conception and theories about the integration of buildingcomplex and urban public space systematically, and provides the classification ofbuilding complex and urban public space so as to explicit the research object clearly.Based on the investigation on the current relation between building complex andurban public, the thesis concludes some common problems and their characteristics.The research verifies the necessity of the integration between building complex andurban public. Moreover, the study of the developing trend and its elements of theintegrated design is driven, which constructs a framework of principles to guide theintegration. Finally, the thesis concludes a set of comprehensive design strategies ofthe integration and demonstrates them according to the specific examples, whichreveals the realistic significance and operability of the integration.This thesis aims to create an efficient, convenient and comfortable public livingspace and adapts to a new era of demand for building complex and urban publicthrough their integration, which makes a useful exploration for the development ofthe field. It also hopes contemporary planners and architects to learn to apply theintegrated conception in the real operation so as to play a positive role in the processof the integration between architecture and urban.
