Abstract/Summary:
In the process of urbanization, the accelerated development of urban economyand the increase of car ownership have, to some extent, influenced the traffic as wellas the environment in the city. People reflect on the expansion and the developmentof motor ehicle, proposing to construct Non-motorized transportation system, improvingslow traffic environment, and advocating green travel transport concept.Firstly, this thesis introduces the research background, setting a range for theresearch content and discovering the research question. To solve the problems, thethesis further studies foreign relevant theories of Non-motorized transportation andanalyzes several successful cases of that. In particular, through the research on slowsystem construction in the scenic West Lake of Hangzhou and in Xiamen HaicangDistrict Lakeside, this paper summarizes the features of current Non-motorizedtransportation system. And it finds out the different elements which need to beconsidered in the construction of Non-motorized transportation system, providingrealistic significance for the specific system design. From the perspective of urbanplanning, the author of this paper proposes the optimization mode of Non-motorizedtransportation system, including the elements such as slow road, slow facilities, slowlandscape environment, and barrier-free environment. And it is on the basis of thismodel that people could through expanding the apace organize the pedestrian flowand traffic stream. Finally, taking Hangzhou uptown Qiantang riverside as an example, the thesis draws a conclusion that the optimization of Non-motorized transportationsystem should be based on intensive land, landscape, tourism, and urbancomprehensive transportation conditions.
