Design Communication Space Based On Different Apartments For The Elderly

With the pace of ageing spread to the world,,countries began to explore how to built aphysical and mental environment according to the needs of older persons. As the mostpopulous country, China’s elderly population has closed to two hundred million so far.According to the special national conditions of our country,the construction for the elderlyto meet their physical and psychological needs of the living environment, has become a hotspot in today’s society.In recent years, especially in order to compensate and improve theemotional loss beacuse of the physiological decline and self-recession, scholars have begunto study "apartments for the elderly," the new age residential. Thus,the articles about theapartments for the elderly study also showed a blowout situation.Through the author’sinvestigation and literature reading, finding that most of the Academic researchs of thescholars reach conclusionsof the design of apartments for the elderly are based on the socialpsychology and behavioral psychology to study in the elderly lived in the elderly apartments.It will inevitably and fellow scholars go with theflow,if the author starts the reseach justfrom such aspects.Therefore,this paper should view in a new perspective,based on thedifferent characteristics of the elderly, giving full consideration to the psychologicalcharacteristics of different behaviors of the elderly,to explore a new living spaceenvironment and to promote communication needs of the elderly.Firstly,the research object is the communication space of elderly apartment in thispaper.Secondly,the author through the summary of the analysis of the excellent cases and theobservation of the characteristics of the elderly daily behavior habits,taking the actualresearch and investigation of the constitute of the communication space’s function,the layoutForm,the spatial composition,the proportional relationship,the internal facilities and thehumane,basingon the architecture, behavioral psychology, nursing and othermulti-disciplinary comprehensive research,finally, Putting forward the theory of differentkinds of relationship between the elderly and the exchange of space and exploring the designstrategy of suitable for different elderly apartment,s communication space of the old according to their special demands.
